One of the best things about being a follower of Jesus is the daily reminder that his mercies are new every morning (Lam. 3:22–23).
That’s part of what makes the New Year so special too.
As we enter 2026, I want to encourage you to remember—remember that Jesus is ready for you. This is the time of year when everyone is thinking about change. About what they want to do differently. About how they want to be different.
So many people are desperate for a reset. A fresh start. Jesus wants to give you one.
If you’ve been thinking, I can’t keep living like this, or whispering to yourself, this year has to be different, I have good news for you. It can be.
Jesus is in the redemption business. He takes our brokenness and makes something beautiful. He takes our sin and shame, and by his grace he creates something new and wonderful.
If you’ve been telling yourself that Jesus doesn’t want someone like you, you’ve been believing a lie.
Jesus is the Savior who died for his enemies. He didn’t come to save good people. He came to save the desperate, the broken, and the ashamed.
As a matter of fact, the people who struggle most to receive Jesus’ help are the ones who think they don’t need him—who believe they already have it all together, who assume they’re doing just fine on their own.
That’s the lie. The devil wants nothing more than for you to believe you’re either too good or too bad for Jesus.
The truth is, we’re all the same. We’re all in desperate need. And we’re all within his reach.
Jesus made the greatest sacrifice in the history of the world. He gave his life to save you. Don’t ever think his sacrifice was big enough to cover everything except your situation.
Jesus knew your story before he ever went to the cross. He knew your failures. He knew your fears. And he came to save you anyway.
The New Year is another invitation to turn to Jesus. Or, to turn back to him. He loves you. He wants you. And he is calling you to follow him.
Don’t let 2026 be another year of resisting his voice. He is calling your name. Humble yourself and listen.
His mercies are new every morning.
Make your New Year full of Jesus.
