We tend to think of big spiritual moments as once-in-a-lifetime events.
You raise your hand. You walk the aisle. You get baptized. You capture and circle the date in your Bible. Those are incredible moments. Don’t downplay them. But they’re just the beginning.
The truth is: following Jesus isn’t a decision you make once and forget about.
It’s a decision you make every day.
That’s what stood out to me in Acts 13. Paul preaches a powerful sermon in the synagogue at Antioch in Pisidia. He walks the people through the promises of God—how God chose Abraham, raised up David, and fulfilled every word by sending Jesus.
The people are stunned. Many believe. And in verse 43, we’re told Paul and Barnabas “urged them to continue in the grace of God.”
Why? Because faith isn’t a flash-in-the-pan moment. It’s—as Eugene Peterson famously said—a long obedience in the same direction.
The Christian life is waking up every morning and deciding again:
“I’m going to trust Jesus today. I’m going to follow Him today. I’m going to live by grace today.”
Not because you’re trying to stay saved—but because grace shapes the way you parent, the way you work, the way you speak, serve, and live. Grace carries you on the good days and holds you together on the hard ones.
So let me ask you:
Have you decided today to follow Jesus?
Not Did you pray a prayer years ago?
Not Do you have a church sticker on your car?
Not Do people think you’re a Christian?
But have you made that every day decision—today?
If not, here’s the good news: Jesus is ready to meet you with fresh grace.
Right now. Right where you are.
Decide today (and tomorrow) to follow Jesus.
