If He Can Save Saul, He Can Save You

If there’s one thing the story of Saul in Acts 9 shows us, it’s this: nobody is too far gone for Jesus.

Saul wasn’t just casually against Christianity — he was actively trying to destroy it. He arrested Christians, broke apart families, and stood proudly by while innocent believers like Stephen were murdered. If you were looking for the last person on earth who would ever become a follower of Jesus, it was Saul.

And yet, on the road to Damascus, Jesus showed up.

A blinding light. A voice from heaven. A moment that flipped Saul’s life completely upside down.

In an instant, the man who was trying to wipe out the name of Jesus was proclaiming it instead. And not quietly either — Saul immediately started preaching that Jesus was the Son of God, and everyone around him was stunned. They remembered his past. They knew his reputation. They couldn’t wrap their minds around the idea that this guy was now on Team Jesus.

Honestly, can you blame them?

It wasn’t just Saul’s enemies who were confused. Even the early Christians were scared to believe it. It took a man named Barnabas — a true encourager — to step in, vouch for Saul, and help the church welcome him in.

That’s the power of the gospel. It doesn’t just clean up the nice people who need a little help. It transforms the worst people — the broken, the arrogant, the violent, the hopeless — into brothers and sisters in Christ.

If Jesus can save Saul, He can save anybody.

If Jesus can turn Saul’s story into a mission that changed the world, He can do something beautiful with your story too.

Maybe there’s someone you’ve been praying for, someone who feels too far gone. Maybe you’re wondering if God could really forgive you. Acts 9 is God’s reminder: Nobody is beyond the reach of Jesus.

At Cornerstone, we believe this with everything we’ve got. Follow Jesus. Reach people. That’s the mission.

And it starts by remembering that Jesus can save anyone, anywhere, anytime — even the ones we least expect.
